1. Upgrades in Film Handling

1.1 Film cutter

For users with older versions of Procolored printers, obtaining a clean, finished print could be a cumbersome process, often requiring manual trimming with scissors. To address this inconvenience efficiently, Procolored has introduced a film cutter mechanism at the film exit of their printers. With this feature, users can now effortlessly achieve their desired prints by simply sliding the cutter across. This enhancement has been incorporated into all of Procolored's DTF and UV DTF printers, significantly improving user convenience and print quality.

1.2 Film roll feeding

Unlike office printing, specialty printing on materials such as fabric or metal requires white ink as a base to better present other colors. This can be particularly challenging for new beginners, as improperly maintained white ink can easily cause printing interruptions. Why?

For a wider range of applicable graphic: Take A4 sheet film as example. A4 sheet film is sized as 8.2* 12.9inch (21*29.7cm). Compared to film roll, this limited length inevitably narrows down the applicable range of graphic size.

For a more flexible layout: With a much bigger length, film roll offers more flexibility in multi-graphics arrangement, effectively heightening film utilization rate.

2. Upgrades in Operating System

2.1 Procolored Siphon Circulation

Different from office printing, specialty printing like printings on fabric or metal, requires white ink as the printing base to better present other colors. And that might be a nightmare for most new beginners, since carelessly maintained white ink can easily incur printing interruptions. Why?

Easier sedimentation: White ink often contains titanium dioxide (TiO₂), a highly concentrated and dense pigment. Compared to color inks, this heavier and thicker component leads to easier ink sedimentation, greatly shortening ink longevity.

Shorter drying time: Thanks to special components, white ink dries quicker than other color inks. This can easily cause nozzle clogging when it is left on the printhead surface.

Higher viscosity: Endowed with higher viscosity, white ink won’t directly flow through nozzles. Instead, it may remain on the nozzles and again cause clogging issues.

How did Procolored alleviate all these problems?

All Procolored printers are equipped with an automated cleaning function, which activates every 10 hours when the printer is turned on but remains idle. This ensures the printhead stays clean and prevents ink buildup.

To further address white ink issues, Procolored introduced a patented ink circulation system called Procolored Siphon Circulation. The Procolored Siphon White Ink Circulation System uses the siphon effect to transport white ink, ensuring a stable ink supply for long-duration printing. Additionally, a built-in diaphragm device provides constant drive, causing continuous agitation and circulation of the white ink. This leads to a longer lifespan for both the ink and the nozzles.

So far, all Procolored DTF and UV DTF printers have been installed with this patented system.

2.2 Procolored Printhead Safeguard System

Besides ink debris, nozzle clogging can also be caused by foreign object interference, such as a curved printing medium or obstacles on the printing platform. To address this issue, Procolored has launched the Printhead Safeguard System, an advanced built-in detection system designed to promptly identify foreign objects and prevent deficient printing.

The system consists of two main components: an LED light emitter and a photosensitive receiver. It utilizes diffused photoelectric detection technology and triangulation methods for effective identification. The process works as follows: infrared light is emitted by the LED onto the printing medium, then reflected back to the photosensitive receiver and converted into electrical signals. If the signals from a foreign object exceed the preset threshold of the receiver, the protection action is triggered, and the circuit is opened to stop the printing process.

Currently, this system has been installed on the F8 Panda DTF Printer Gen-2, and it will soon be configured on the F13 Panda DTF Printer as well.

2.3 RIP software version.2

A raster image processor (RIP) is a component used in a printing system to produce a raster image output. RIP is essential for all Procolored printers to execute a printing task. Based on feedback from users of RIP software Version 1, Procolored has upgraded the software to Version 2, incorporating the following main improvements:

main features of RIP software Version 2

More language options: V2 provides language options including Chinese, English, French, German, Italian and so forth.

Adjustable print breathability : V2 provides more flexibility in air hole setting, delivering print of different qualities to meet different breathability needs.

Compact graphic layout: In V2, users can achieve a more compact graphic layout via help from two new functions. One is intelligent layout—by choosing this, users will get layout recommendations based on their desired graphics. The other one is adsorption setting (particularly for graphics with transparent backgrounds). By activating this function, all clear graphic backgrounds can be merged, creating a more compact arrangement.

Improved management center: In V1, users had to right-click the mouse to access more management options. In V2, we have made these options more accessible by placing them as visible icons in the upper right corner of the management center page. This provides easier access to functions such as maintenance, cleaning, status checking, and more.

RIP software Version 2 now are compatible to all Procolored printers. Click here for a detailed introduction of V2.

3. Upgrades in Other Equipment

3.1 Procolored Panda Heat Press

Procolored Panda Heat Press

Traditional heat presses require manual effort to press and lift the heavy heating cover, inevitably increasing the risk of burns and injuries. To provide a safer workflow, Procolored has launched the Panda Heat Press with a redefined product appearance and functions:

Auto-lifting and auto-closing heating cover: New-designed lightweight cover that automatically closes up to begin a task and opens when the task is over, requiring less manual effort.

Knob switch: Control switch with LED display, providing instant feedback of temperature and time countdown; rotary knob shape for easier parameter adjustment.

Insulation structures: Designed with insulation pad and shell, creating a safer working environment.

3.2 Procolored UV Laminator

UV laminator main structure

Laminator is an auxiliary equipment for UV printings on A film (film with viscosity). Compared to traditional UV laminator, this new one features as below:

Supporting two laminating methods: Singled sided lamination for UV printings designated to be crystal stickers, and double sided lamination for other needs.

Auto lamination mode: This new laminator is designed with two built-in sensors placed at the film feeder and film exit. It starts to laminate when the feeder sensor detects incoming material and halts when the laminated material has completely passed through the film exit.

New-added film fixing clips: Two designated clips are set at the upper film roller. When fastened, these clips keep the film roller fixed during the lamination process, effectively heightening lamination accuracy and reducing unexpected deviation.
